in Small Times Media’s 2006 nanotechnology venture capital rankings.
The first-ever North Carolina Nanotechnology Commercialization Conference will focus on encouraging innovative commercial applications of nanotechnology statewide. This conference will pull together entrepreneurs, business leaders, researchers, investors, and service providers from across North Carolina and the nation. Approximately 300 participants are expected.
The North Carolina Nanotechnology Commercialization Conference will be held in Raleigh, NC on March 25th and 26th, 2009. The goals of the conference are:
- To promote collaborations within the state, especially building relationships across the different sectors (small businesses, industry, academia, investors, and government)
- To promote NC businesses and to showcase emerging technologies across the state
- To promote economic development in the field of nanotechnology
Wednesday, March 25th
• Legislative reception at the North Carolina History Museum
• Plenary lecture at the North Carolina History Museum
• Workshops on funding and commercializing nanotechnology research
• Workshops on advanced topics in nanotechnology
Thursday, March 26th
• Keynote speeches by industry and government leaders
• Exhibit booths and networking poster sessions
• Hear from successful researchers and entrepreneurs about commercializing nanotech
• Meet investors and venture capitalists from around the nation
