Green Business Fund Administrator Hits the Road

Grant Administrator  RV Rikard visited two North Carolina counties in June to talk about the new North Carolina Green Business Fund.

Rikard traveled to Chatham County at the beginning of the month to meet with staff and volunteers at the Carnivore Preservation Trust in Pittsboro. The group discussed the potential for a future Green Business Fund grant to help the non-profit organization convert its electric parameter fence from conventionally generated electricity to solar power. Although non-profit organizations were not eligible for grants during the first round of awards this year,  it is anticipated that they will be eligible in the future.

Later in the month, Rikard visited Robeson County to conduct a half-day grant writing workshop with county officials and potential grant applicants.  Rikard  laid out the criteria for eligibility, explained the grant process and provided specifics about how to submit a completed proposal for consideration.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Green Business Fund or sponsoring a grant writing workshop should contact Rikard at rrikard@nccommerce.com
